Tigers Acquire Erick Aybar From Braves

The Tigers added infield help today by trading for Erick Aybar. Aybar’s arrival comes as a result of shortstop Jose Iglesias landing on the DL. Aybar cleared waivers, which made him eligible for an August trade. The Braves will be getting utility man Mike Aviles and catcher Kade Scivicque in return. Jonah Heim To The Rays

Today the Rays have parted ways with Steve Pearce, who has had a tremendous bounce back season. Now, Pearce is heading back to the team that gave him his first real chance in the MLB, the Baltimore Orioles. The Rays picked up Jonah Heim in this deal, who is currently in high Class-A. Heim was the Orioles 13th best ranked prospect, but has struggled at the plate this year by slashing .216/.300/.344 in 329 plate appearances. Continue reading Jonah Heim To The Rays
