Giants Land Matt Moore

Today, the Giants bolstered their rotation by adding unique southpaw Matt Moore from the Tampa Bay Rays, according to Joel Sherman. Now, this acquisition cost the Giants one major league ready infielder and two prospects. Moore will join a rotation that has struggled near the end with Matt Cain and Jake Peavy, but has a three headed monster with Bumgarner, Cueto, and Samardzija. Jonah Heim To The Rays

Today the Rays have parted ways with Steve Pearce, who has had a tremendous bounce back season. Now, Pearce is heading back to the team that gave him his first real chance in the MLB, the Baltimore Orioles. The Rays picked up Jonah Heim in this deal, who is currently in high Class-A. Heim was the Orioles 13th best ranked prospect, but has struggled at the plate this year by slashing .216/.300/.344 in 329 plate appearances. Continue reading Jonah Heim To The Rays
