The Seattle Mariners continue to play great baseball as they beat the A’s 9-8 taking the series and sweeping them in Oakland. It was very nice to see that the Mariners are capable of winning games when the starter doesn’t hold up their end. It seems that when King Felix starts a game he is the one that shines and the offense just sits back and watched him work his magic, but today that wasn’t the case at all. The King only last 4 innings while giving up 9 hits, 8 runs (only 4 of those were earned due to errors) no walks and only one strikeout. His ERA is still an impressive 2.21 with the outing he had in game three. Luckly the bullpen was able to basically shut down the A’s by only allowing 3 men to get on base over 5 innings of work. Steve Cishek has been the shining star everyone has been looking for as a closer earning his 8th save of the season, making him 8-8 in save opportunities.

Dae-Ho Lee was the Savior for the game as he knocked in his 4th home run in the 6th and game winning 5th Homer in the top of the seventh inning scoring the last run of the game making it 9-8. Nelson Cruz also had a mammoth of a home run to the high seat in deep center field. If you haven’t watched the replay of it do yourself a favor and check it out.

The Mariners have taken 6 straight Series and earned their first sweep of this season. At this rate we can expect to see the Mariners sweep more teams as the season continues.  In the last 19 games the Mariners are 14-5 and lead the AL West with a 16-11 record. The M’s finish their road travels in Houston with a 4 game series before coming. Let’s make it 7 straight Series! Go Mariners!!!
