In the first game of one of their most critical series of the season, the Dodgers put on a show for their fans at home. A-Gon showed why the Dodgers brought him in, blasting a 2-run homerun in the 6th inning, and followed it up with a walk-off single in extra innings. One day after being no-hit by Jake Arrieta and the Cubs, the Dodgers looked good against their divisional rivals coming from behind to win at home.
With just over a month left in the season, the Dodgers are going to need their bats to come alive. With Puig on the 15-day DL the Dodgers have shifted Joc Pederson back to the OF, and are hoping his pre-All-Star game bat comes back to life.
With a 4.5 game lead over the Giants on the division, the Dodgers would love to gain another game or two on their lead. Tonight two studs take the mound in Los Angeles as Madison Bumgarner takes the mound against Zack Greinke. Matchups don’t get much better than this.
Stat of the Game
Tuesday’s matchup is between two of the most dominant power hitting pitchers in the MLB.
Greinke: 2 HRs in 55 ABs
Bumgarner: 5 HRs in 61 ABs
Both of these pitchers however have never given up a homerun to an opposing pitcher. Will tonight be the night the streaks are broken?
