Finally, At the end of the MLB Trade Deadline the Tigers and Mets called each other up and agreed to a deal. The deal will ship Yoenis Cespedes to the Mets and the Mets will ship minor leaguers Luis Cessa and Michael Fulmer.

First of all, Luis Cessa was the Mets number 16th prospect. Cessa is only 23 and has struggled in Triple-A, but was dominant in Double-A. In Triple-A he is 0-3 with an ERA over 8. He doesn’t walk many batters. He is just missing bats. In Double-A he had a record of 7-4 with an ERA under 2.60. Cessa has a fastball that sits at 93 mph and has a curve that is developing with a MLB average changeup already. He throws strikes left and right. If he reaches the MLB he will be a solid number 4-5 in the rotation.

Next, Michael Fulmer was the number 7th prospect down in the Mets farm system. Fulmer is an aggressive pitcher and has a demeanor like a bulldog. Fulmer can be like a good 3rd or 4th starter, but can be a solid setup man or maybe even a closer. Fulmer is currently at Double-A and has pitched to perfection. He is 6-2 on the season with an ERA of 1.88, striking out 83 batters in 86 innings pitched. The 22 year-old Fulmer throws all his pitches with power and his fastball hits the mid 90’s consistently. His slider is really good and his changeup is decent and needs a tweak here and there. He has a small control problem, but is around the plate more than not.

With the Tigers trading Cespedes it seems like the Tigers are folding and just stacking up for the future. Cespedes will bat anywhere between the 3-5 spot in New York. Cespedes and Duda! Wow, thats a great combo. Cespedes is good defensively also and will most likely play in right field with his big cannon of an arm. That means Granderson will most likely move to centerfield. Cespedes will be a free agent after this year and demand at least $10-$16 mil a year. Cespedes this season is hitting .293 with 18 homers and 61 RBIs. He clear seems like the best hitter now on the Mets. They have the worst offense in baseball and just improved that ranking by 3-6 ranks.
